Small group hens parties, for the girls who know her best

A small group hens party is a hens for the bride's closest six to ten: one long table, one or two experiences she would pick herself, and nobody she has to make small talk with. My Ultimate Hens plans them in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.

the seating plan

You've picked the people. Now picture the table.

One conversation travelling the length of it, a toast from the people who know the stories, and a photo where you can see every face.

  • Hens in sashes and a tiara clinking glasses of bubbles across the table
    Glasses up, across the table
  • The bride to be laughing with two friends in heart sunglasses on a sunny city rooftop
    Her and her favourites
  • Two friends laughing over glasses of bubbly at an outdoor table
    The catch-up
  • The bride in her sash cheek to cheek with a friend, toasting with cocktails
    Cheek to cheek
  • Four friends laughing around a table of orange spritzes
    Four spritzes, one story
  • A hens group sitting together in front of a colourful flower wall with neon lettering
    Everyone in the photo
  • Her inner circle, usually six to ten of her favourite people, around one table
  • One or two experiences she'd pick herself: a long lunch, a class, a sail or something cheeky
  • Every toast from someone who knows the stories, and every face in every photo
  • In six cities: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide

She gets her favourite people around one table. You get the seat beside her, and the thank-yous in the group chat, with your name on them.

who we are

Meet My Ultimate Hens

My Ultimate Hens plans hens parties and weekends, bringing the experiences, places and timing together around the bride and her group.

  • Hosts who bring everyone in. Our Dance Hosts, perfume hosts and topless waiters are our own, trained by us to get the whole table joining in.
  • An itinerary you can actually refer to. Where you're going, when, and what comes next, in one place for the whole group.
  • The next stop, already thought through. The class leads into lunch, lunch leads into the night, and nobody's standing on a corner working out where to go.
  • The price, right on the package page. Every package shows its price per person, so the girls can see it before anyone says yes.

01 the guest list

What is a small group hens party?

Her inner circle, one table, and a day built for exactly those people.

A small group hens party is a hens for the bride's inner circle, usually six to ten of you, where the whole day is built for that table. Intimate, yes. Quiet, only if she wants it.

Six to ten is the size our small group packages are designed for, and for four or five of you, her Wishlist in her city is the place to start. It's the size where everyone gets the bride: she talks to every single person, hears every toast and ends up in every photo with all of them.

The girls around the table may know her from different chapters of her life: the school friend, the sister, the work wife, the one from the netball team. A long lunch or a class gives those friendships somewhere easy to meet, and by dessert they're swapping stories about her.

Intimate hens party ideas are the same table by another name: everything below is built for it, and the full spread of what a hens can be lives in our hens party ideas.

Every chapter of her life, one table.

02 why it works

A small group hens, all in one conversation

Three moments that happen when every one of you can hear each other.

  • The bride in a white dress and sparkly sash hugging a friend tightly

One conversation, the whole way down the table

She's halfway through a story, her sister is correcting the details, and you're sitting beside her laughing. Nobody's stuck at the far end of the table missing it.

  • Two friends laughing together, close up

A toast from the people who know the stories

It starts with "Do you remember..." and she's laughing before you get any further. By the last line, everyone's reaching for a napkin and pretending it's for the dessert.

  • Two friends cheek to cheek, raising pink cocktails in coupe glasses

    Every face in every photo

The group photo comes with years of backstory, and for once you can see everyone in it. Same girls, a brand new story for the group chat.

Nobody spends the night herding a crowd between bars or splitting into five Ubers. You're all just there, together, and the night goes where she goes.

Small is about who's there, not how loud it gets. A slow lunch and a sunset sail, or our topless waiter and the dance floor: mild or wild is her call. Leaning calm? Our relaxed, low-key hens party ideas are made for her.

The bride to be in her veil, cheek to cheek and laughing with a friend

You're in the photos too.

With My Ultimate Hens, the plan comes together before the day: where you're going, when, what's next, and the little surprises for her. So on the day you're beside the bride with a glass in your hand, not on your phone working out the next stop.

Jess organised for nine and says it better than we can. Read Jess's review

Small hens party ideas her inner circle will love

Choose something she'd send you with "we need to do this". Want every idea in one place? See all our hens party ideas.

  1. Hands clinking coupe glasses with strawberries across a pink table

    01

    One long table dinner

She's the friend who orders something for everyone to try. Picture her in the middle of the table, passing plates, topping up the conversation and protesting when someone stands up to make a toast.

A long lunch or dinner with every one of you at the same table: the speeches, the dessert nobody ordered and the photo of her laughing. It's the idea every other one on this list fits around.

  2. 02

A creative class, the whole crew at one table

She has strong opinions about colours and a saved folder of things she'd love to make. Around this table everyone has a go, someone changes her mind halfway through, and someone is already planning where hers will go.

Hands busy, conversation easy, and every one of you takes something home. Each class makes a different keepsake: her own scent at a hens perfume making class with your own My Ultimate Hens perfume host, a stack for every wrist at hens jewellery making, something gloriously wonky at a clay pottery hens party, or canvases up for the photo at a paint and sip hens party.

  3. Hens in bright dresses raising pink cocktails over a long table of shakers

    03

Shake her a cocktail (or a mocktail)

She's usually the one choosing the cocktail bar. This time she's behind the shaker, the girls are watching, and everyone has an opinion about the garnish.

Everyone gets a turn on the shaker, and the girls not drinking make the alcohol-free versions, so the toast at the end has a glass in every hand. More on a hens cocktail making class.

  4. Friends in chef hats and aprons rolling gnocchi along a long marble table

    04

    Cook it, then eat it

Flour on the bench, pasta on the rack, and the bride being told her gnocchi has character. Then everyone sits down together and eats what they made.

A class that ends at a long table is about as small-group as it gets: everyone cooking, everyone talking, everyone fed. More on our hens cooking classes.

  5. Four friends in white robes clinking champagne glasses

    05

A spa morning in the good robe

Massages or facials, the good robe, a glass of bubbles after, and not one single wedding question all morning.

The kindest thing you can plan for a bride in the middle of seating charts. Her inner circle, side by side in robes, catching up between treatments. See our hens spa days.

  6. Hens in comfy shorts and tees laughing through a dance routine in a lounge

    06

A dance class starring the bride

The first run-through is mostly laughter. Then the chorus comes back around, everyone finds the move, and she gives you that look.

Your My Ultimate Hens Dance Host teaches one routine from the very first count, and by the end you're performing it for her, or with her front and centre. See our hens dance classes, and for the brave, a pole dancing hens party.

  7. Four friends in summer dresses raising their glasses together in a vineyard under a blue sky

    07

A winery day with someone else driving

One car, one table at lunch, and nobody the designated driver. By the third tasting she has a favourite and her sister has a counter-argument.

Cellar doors, a long lunch among the vines and the whole crew in the same car between them. More on a hens winery tour.

  8. Four friends in black dresses raising their glasses on a boat deck in the sun

    08

    On the water

A sunset sail with the girls, glasses up, the water going gold and the bride at the front for the photo.

A sail or a cruise turns an afternoon into an occasion, and everyone on board is someone she wants there. See our boat hens party ideas.

  9. Two friends laughing with drinks in hand, one in a jewelled headband

    09

    Karaoke, with her song last

Six voices, one microphone and a great deal of confidence.

Everyone gets a song, the duets get competitive, and hers is saved for the very end, because obviously. Pick it in the group chat beforehand and keep it from her.

  10. A brunch grazing box of pastries, strawberries, figs and berries

    10

    A slow brunch to start

Bubbles, a long table, pastries nobody's sharing and nowhere to be until the afternoon.

The easiest start to a hens: everyone arrives, everyone catches up, and the day takes it from there. High tea works the same way, with better china.

  11. Four friends in flower crowns and sashes laughing as they lift our topless waiter

    11

    A little mischief, small-group size

Our topless waiter arrives, and the friend who promised to behave is suddenly asking the most questions.

With her favourite people at the table, he's the extra guest who learns every name, keeps the glasses full and hosts the games: see our hens party topless waiter. A drag queen hens party has the whole table in stitches by the second round, and at a life drawing hens party every one of you gets a very good look and a lot of laughs. How cheeky is entirely her call.

  12. Five friends in satin robes and sunglasses celebrating on the floor

    12

A night in that feels like a big deal

Robes on, face masks drying, her favourite film and the good snacks, with every one of you squeezed onto the same couch.

For the bride who'd pick robes over heels, a night in is the hens. Plenty more hens night in ideas.

04 after dessert

Small hens party games that work with six

The best hens games for small groups only work because every one of you knows her. With six to ten around the table, everyone gets a turn and every story lands.

  • How well do you know the bride?

Her first concert, her coffee order, who said "I love you" first. A point for every match, and her sister always thinks she's won.

  • What did the groom say?

His answers, recorded before the day. Her guesses, live at the table.

  • The memory jar

One favourite memory from each of you, read out by the bride, who guesses who wrote it.

  • Two truths and a lie, bride edition

Every story is about her. Spot the lie, or the true one gets told properly.

  • The toast round

One sentence each about her over dessert. It never stays at one sentence.

06 the long weekend

A small group hens weekend away

One way it could go. The best bits are the in-between moments.

  1. Five friends in pink robes seen from behind, with Bride To Be balloons

    Friday

    Everyone arrives

Bags dropped at our accommodation, robes on before anyone's unpacked, an argument about the getting-ready playlist, then a long dinner where the catching up finally gets going.

  2. Friends in white robes lying in a circle on a bed, seen from above

    Saturday

    The main event

Breakfast picks up last night's conversation exactly where it stopped. Then a class or a winery day, and a dinner everyone dresses up for. Pampering can come to you, too: hands, feet, shoulders and a little glam at our accommodation, with everyone in the one room chatting.

  3. Hands toasting spritz cocktails over a picnic grazing spread

    Sunday

    A slow brunch

Everyone scrolling through yesterday's photos, ordering one more round of coffee, and home by the afternoon.

  • Three friends in heart pyjamas laughing in a bathtub full of balloons, champagne up
  • Friends in aprons gathered around a long table of finished glass terrariums
  • Three friends in white robes laughing with champagne glasses
  • Four friends in robes and towel turbans laughing together at a day spa

More real My Ultimate Hens celebrations: small crews, long tables, good robes.

Everyone's under one roof, so nobody's negotiating taxis at 1am, and the best conversation of the weekend happens in pyjamas. See our hens weekend packages.

Keeping the guest list small, without the drama

Her list, her call, and a sentence you can borrow.

  1. Start with her list, not yours

Ask the bride who she can't imagine it without. That's the guest list, and it's already the right one.

  2. Decide with a few, then share one plan

Settle it with the two or three girls closest to it, then send everyone one clear plan. More on keeping the hens group chat happy.

  3. Let the wider circle have their own moment

If a kitchen tea or shower is happening, that's where the extended family and the work friends celebrate her. The hens is for the girls who know her best.

10 in their words

Real hens with their nearest and dearest

Told by the organisers who were there, word for word.

What difference does it make to the organiser?

Our night flowed really well, no stuffing around and most importantly I got to actually enjoy my friends hens instead of playing event manager all night because everything had already been thought through. The timing, what was included, where we'd go next, what suited the 9 girls we had and honestly, I didn't properly realise how much difference that would make until the actual night itself. It felt like a proper event rather than us just meeting at a few places Han loved every part of it and even said how did you do and find all this?? So that was the review from her I needed and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Will it feel like her?

Thank you so much for assisting me in organising the most fun hens day for my beautiful best friend. We have known each other for over 30 years and when you know someone that well, you want to be able to create the most fun and memorable day for them. You girls tailor made a day to remember for our bride to be and her beautiful guests. The day ran so smoothly thanks to our wonderful My Ultimate driver. Roger was so friendly and had a good sense of humour, and was so willing to help out in any way possible on the day. We had nothing but positive feedback from the girls saying it was the best hens they have been to and it was the best value for money too. Our bride was so grateful for such a fun filled day and wants to do it all over again!! Thank you once again for your time to help organise and create a day to remember. I have no reservations in recommending you to anyone who's looking to organise THE ULTIMATE HENS day!!!

Can I pull it off from far away?

So I organised a hen party from London for my best friend in Australia and honestly didn't know how I was going to pull it off and so happy I found My Ultimate Hens.

From start to finish everything exceeded expectations, thankyou for all the little surprises, how smoothly everything went and it all just worked and we had just the best time and honestly just soak it all in, which is pretty rare when you're the one organising.

It ended up being one of the best nights ever and there's no way I could have done it from the other side of the world without you. I'm so grateful and honestly couldn't recommend you more.

Will the plan be easy to follow?

I had the best experience with My Ultimate Hens!! As a Type B girly turned maid of honour, My Ultimate made it SO easy being able to leave all the details in their hands! From the start, they made everything feel seamless and I found their website really easy to navigate too and could refer to the itinerary whenever I needed! Our group (and most importantly hen) had the most amazing night and I looked like the best planner ever 💗

Rebekah Rasmussen, Google review, maid of honour

Will they listen to what we want?

I've had such a wonderful experience with My Ultimate Hens that I'm already a repeat customer!

The team were fantastic to bounce ideas around with and took the time to create a package that felt perfect for us.

Their communication was excellent from start to finish, and I genuinely felt cared for throughout the entire process.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend My Ultimate Hens to anyone wanting to create special and memorable celebration.
