From a real bride, word for word

These lovely ladies organised me and my girls a great day at their lovely day spa, the girls can not stop talking about it! Thankyou ladies!

That's the whole point of the day. One treatment, one round of bubbles, one long lunch, and her girls are still talking about it on the drive home. More real hens, in their own words

01 the short answer

What happens on a hens spa day

The spa comes first, while everyone is fresh. The day just keeps going from there.

A hens spa day with My Ultimate Hens is a massage or facial each and a round of bubbles at the spa, built into a whole celebration of her: a rooftop, dinner and often a VIP booth after. The spa is where her day starts, not where it ends.

02 her kind of spa

A day spa

The classic hens day spa, and what most of our spa days are built on. Robes, a round of bubbles at the spa and a massage or a facial each. Then out into the afternoon looking like you slept for a week.

Facials and massages

The treatment menu in plain words: the whole crew on the table for massages, a full hour at some of our day spas, or a massage or facial each, so the bride who wants to glow for the photos and the friend who wants her shoulders sorted both get their way.

A bride to be and two laughing friends in heart sunglasses on a sunny city rooftop

Spa with high tea, brunch or a long lunch

Bottomless brunch and a rooftop before the spa, or the spa first and a sweet high tea up high after. The daytime hens with no hangover in it, and the one mum and the aunties will thank you for.

Rather soak? Bathhouses and hot springs

Warm pools, steam and sauna instead of a treatment room, with the whole crew floating in one place. Our Brisbane spa days already include a bathhouse with a cocktail bar inside. Hot springs are on request in her city.

I just wanted to say my MoH organised my hens party in Sydney for me through My Ultimate Hens over the weekend and it was nothing short of amazing. From being picked up in a limo from our fancy hotel, taken on a harbour cruise, topless waiters, magical sunset views, I truely could not have asked for a better party. This wasn't even the end of it. On Sunday we then had a delicious breakfast down by the harbour followed by relaxing massages and facials. This girl is well and truely feeling so special. Thank you more than ever to the my ultimate team, will be recommending your team to all my friends and family. xx

03 her people

Who a hens spa day suits

The bride who would rather be horizontal, and everyone she wants lying next to her.

Friends laughing as champagne is poured, one in a sleep mask pushed up on her head

The bride who has had enough of being asked things

Months of invoices, swatches and seating charts. One day where the only decision is massage or facial, and someone else books the table after.

Two friends at a nail bar, one showing off her fresh nails, a pink drink beside them

Mum, the aunties and the mother-in-law

A spa day is the hens nobody has to be talked into. Robes are the great leveller, and the cheekier part of the day can wait until after dinner, or not happen at all.

Hens in towel turbans stretched out on pink poolside daybeds, one reading a magazine

The ones not drinking

Spa water, a facial and a long lunch need no explaining. The bubbles are there for whoever wants them and a proper glass of something pink for whoever does not.

Two women in towel turbans, robes and sunglasses relaxing on a couch

A pregnant bride, or a pregnant guest

A spa day is one of the loveliest ways to spoil a pregnant bride: feet up, robe on, and a treatment chosen with the bump in mind. Tell us she is expecting and the whole day gets built around her. For more, see our hens party ideas for a pregnant bride.

Molly is amazing!! I had so many questions, needed to work into budgets and potential pregnant guests. Molly gave me a tonne of options, responded to my emails quickly and made the whole journey of planning a hen's weekend a breeze! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a destination hens weekend

A crew that has never met

School friends, work friends, the cousins. Nobody needs small talk with a face mask on, and by the time the robes come off the group chat has merged itself.

Six of you or thirty

It works a treat either way. A small crew gets long chats between treatments; a big crew fills the lounge with robes and noise. If she would rather stay in, a hens pamper party brings it all to you.

04 the group chat asks

A hens spa day for the whole group, answered

The things the group chat asks at 9pm, answered before anyone types them.

Does everyone get a treatment?

Yes. Every one of our spa days has a treatment each built in, so nobody watches from the lounge: a massage, a facial, or her pick of the two.

Does everyone have the same one?

Both are lovely. At plenty of our spas each of you picks a massage or a facial; at others the whole crew has a massage together. You'll know which before anyone packs a robe.

What time of day works best?

Spa first. Everyone arrives fresh, the bubbles at the spa start the day gently, and nobody wants a massage after the third cocktail. Brunch-first days flip it and finish in the robes.

Can we drink at the spa?

Yes. A round of bubbles at the spa comes with every one of our spa days, and our Brisbane bathhouse days have a cocktail bar inside the spa. Brunch, lunch or dinner sits either side, so nobody eats in a robe.

What do the others do while she is on the table?

On the bathhouse and spa-deck days, the pools, steam room and lounge are yours before and after your treatment, so whoever is waiting is soaking, glass in hand. On the others, it is the lounge, the robes and the group chat merging itself. What to pack is in what to wear.

05 the numbers

What a hens spa day costs

One price per person for the whole day, so nobody is splitting a bill at the spa desk.

Three friends in white robes, sunglasses and slippers sitting together on the end of a hotel bed

Our spa day hens packages usually sit around $200 to $350 per person. And they're built as the whole celebration: the spa, the rooftop, dinner and the night, or a slow afternoon that ends at high tea. The package is the magic. The spa is just where it starts.

Hey girls! Just sharing some photos from a wild hens party, that you lovely ladies help us put together. We had such a blast and your pamper ladies that came to do our makeup , manicure & pedicures and massages were absolutely wonderful and so professional. I took a million photos from that night but I thought I share a few snaps to show everyone having a good time. Once again truly grateful for everything! Thank you

What goes in her bag

Most day spas hand out the robe and the towels. The rest is on you.

  • Swimmers, if there are pools, steam or a bathhouse in the day.
  • A claw clip or a scrunchie, because towel turbans only last so long.
  • Slides, for the walk between the treatment room and the bubbles.
  • Something loose to change into after, because massage oil and silk do not get along.
  • The night's outfit, in its own bag, for when the robes come off and the day goes out.
  • A charger, for the photos you were not allowed to take in the treatment room.

What a My Ultimate Hens spa day adds

Plenty of crews book a massage themselves and have a lovely time. A My Ultimate Hens spa day puts the whole celebration in one place: the spa, the bubbles, the rooftop table, dinner and the little surprises for the bride, lined up in an order that works, because we've been building hens since 2011 and we know what makes a day land.

  • One place for everything.
  • Surprises for her, already in it.

15 asked a lot

Hens spa day questions

Everything the group chat will ask, in the order they will ask it.

What is a hens spa day?

A hens spa day is a hens party built around a spa: a massage or facial each at a day spa or bathhouse, a round of bubbles at the spa, then the rest of the day together. With My Ultimate Hens that usually means a rooftop bar, dinner and, on plenty of days, a VIP booth, all booked as one day.

Is a hens spa day the same as a hens pamper party?

No, they're close cousins. A hens spa day goes out to a day spa for a treatment each and then into the rest of the day; a hens pamper party brings manicures, massages and bubbles to a room set up for your crew, or therapists to your accommodation on request (how it works). Overseas the spa version is often called a bachelorette spa day.

How long is a hens spa day?

The treatments run thirty to sixty minutes, and how long the celebration goes is up to you. Our packages cater for every kind of hens, from a slow afternoon that ends at high tea to the spa, a rooftop, dinner and a VIP booth.

Does everyone have to have the same treatment?

No. At plenty of our spas each of you picks a massage or a facial, and at others the whole crew has a massage together. You'll know which before anyone packs a robe.

Can a pregnant bride or guest come on a hens spa day?

Yes, absolutely. Tell us she's expecting and we'll build her day around her, from a treatment chosen with the bump in mind to pregnancy-friendly food, and the rooftop and the high tea work for everyone.

Is a spa day good for non-drinkers, mum and the aunties?

Yes. A spa day is the hens nobody has to be talked into. Robes suit every age, the treatments need no explaining, and for non-drinkers we can always organise a non-alcoholic alternative. Pick a high tea or a long lunch after the spa if her crowd prefers an early night.

Can we eat and drink at the spa?

Yes. A round of bubbles at the spa comes with every one of our spa days, and our Brisbane bathhouse days have a cocktail bar inside the spa. Brunch, lunch or dinner sits either side, so nobody eats in a robe.

What should we bring to a hens spa day?

Swimmers if there are pools or steam rooms, a hair tie, slides, something loose to change into after the treatment, and the night's outfit in its own bag. The robe is usually the spa's. More in what to wear.

Can the spa come to our accommodation?

Yes, on request in her city: therapists and makeup can come to your accommodation. Or pick one of our pamper days, with manicures, massages and bubbles and the rest of the day after. See hens pamper parties.

Can we do a bathhouse or hot springs instead of a day spa?

Yes. A bathhouse swaps the treatment room for warm pools, steam and sauna; our Brisbane spa days already include one, with a massage or facial each. Hot springs make it a day trip and are on request in her city.

How many people do we need for a hens spa day?

Six of you or thirty, a hens spa day works a treat. Tell us how many are coming when you tell us about her, and we'll find the spa day that suits your crew.

Which cities can we have a hens spa day in?

Hens spa days run in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, from classic day spas to bathhouse days and spa days with brunch or high tea. In Perth and Adelaide, a spa day is on request: tell us her date and how many are coming.

What happens after the spa?

Usually a rooftop bar with a bottle of bubbly, then dinner by the water, tapas or a long Italian table, and on plenty of days a VIP booth. Or high tea up high, if her day ends early. See the whole day.

What is trending for hens spa days?

Bathhouses and hot springs. Searches for bathhouses have grown about three and a half times over five years while day spa searches have dipped (Google Trends, Australia), and hens now search for bathhouse days by name. The Japanese head spa is the newest treatment people want, and for staying in there is the hens pamper party.

How much does a hens spa day cost?

Our spa day hens packages usually sit around $200 to $350 per person. Every package is the whole celebration, not just the spa. Pick her city to see them.
