On a map, most of the Gold Coast looks about ten minutes away. The difficulty starts when the lovely collection of ideas you saved lives in four completely different parts of the Gold Coast: a winery up at Mount Tamborine, a yacht out on the water, dinner in Surfers Paradise, then somebody has found a bar “only ten minutes away”.
Ten minutes for one person is not ten minutes for a hens group. If the itinerary needs transport, decide that while it is still an itinerary. If it does not, keep the route tight enough that everybody can stay in the same hens without spending the night travelling between it.

The Gold Coast does hens in pockets, and the best days pick one rather than trying to do them all.
Surfers Paradise is the heart of it: rooftop beach clubs, dinners and dance floors. The water is the cruise version, with a private yacht and the girls out on deck. And Mount Tamborine is its own thing: a winery day up in the hinterland, with the bus there and back already sorted.
Choose the pocket that suits her, then keep the day inside it.

The Gold Coast has dates when everyone seems to have decided to celebrate at once: New Year’s Eve, the school holidays and the height of wedding season, when Saturdays and the best rooftop and accommodation go first. They do not make a hens impossible. They do make popular accommodation, private spaces and good Saturday times considerably more interesting.

Choose the base around the hens you are actually having. A Surfers Paradise base works beautifully when the package does most of its work in Surfers, and it keeps everyone close to the night.
A cheaper apartment nowhere near the hens becomes surprisingly expensive in patience once everybody is trying to get back there after midnight. The accommodation should make the weekend easier. The hens should not spend its life commuting back to the accommodation.
