Hi Heather,

I wanted to provide some feedback from Stephies hens on the weekend just gone and say a huge thanks to everyone involved - she loved it from start to finish and you made it all so perfect! Your burlesque dancer Crystal she was unreal and made us all feel very femme fierce and strutting our stuff! Thankyou also for making sure she included the songs I sent you because as we talked about in the lead up these are our hens favourite songs and it made it even more special to have them as part of the night.

Now onto the topless waiter, well he was dishy as promised and even Stephs mum was getting in on the action and stealing him from everyone else for photos which was so funny! He couldn't do enough for us and yes as you can see from the photos we even dressed him up in a toilet paper gown and he was such a good sport helping and making us all laugh, it was exactly what we needed on such a fun night and exactly the sort of attitude i had hoped for.

Everything ran perfectly and i just wanted to say thankyou again i honestly couldn't have done it without your help and i cant wait to work with you again when i get engaged!

01 curtain up

What happens at a burlesque hens party

Five moments, one routine, a lot of sparkle and a bride in the best seat in the house.

A burlesque hens party with My Ultimate Hens is a class with one of our own burlesque hosts, trained by us for hens nights, who teaches the whole crew a routine with feather fans or boas to perform for the bride, built into a whole celebration of her in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide; or the girls take their seats for a burlesque show and let our dancers dazzle. The routine is where her night starts, not where it ends.

  1. A private room with red velvet booths, Moroccan lanterns and a gold vase, lit pink and purple

    One

A room full of your girls

A room set up for your crew, or your own place. Your burlesque host sweeps in already knowing the bride's name and the songs you sent through, so hers are in the mix from the very first shimmy.

  2. A hens crew waving colourful feather boas mid warm-up, the bride in her sash on the right and a pink feather headdress in the middle

    Two

    The warm-up

Shoulders back, chin up, a roll of the hips and the strut. Five minutes in, the shy one's giggling and the loud one has already perfected the hair flick.

  3. A big hens crew in colourful feather boas mid class in a function room, a pink feather headdress at the back

    Three

The routine, a few steps at a time

Your host teaches it in little sparkly pieces until it clicks. Then the feather fans open, the boas start flying and the room gets very, very loud.

  4. Friends dancing and pointing at the bride in a white fluffy jacket, everyone laughing

    Four

    The performance, for her

The full run-through, then the girls turn and perform it for the bride. If she's game, she gets a solo. Either way, she's the star of the show.

  5. A hens crew in black dresses posing with big blue feather headdresses and a red boa

    Five

    The photos, then the night

Feathers up for the group shot, then on to dinner, drinks and the rest of her night, glitter still on and the shoulder shimmy still going at the bar.

You picked the songs. You read her right. Everyone in that room knows it.

Ways to do burlesque at the hens

Eight ways in, from learning the routine yourselves to taking your seats while our dancers bring the sequins.

A big hens crew in black dresses and pink feather boas posing together after their burlesque class

A private burlesque class

Your own burlesque host, a room full of your girls and one routine for the whole crew, with feather fans or boas in every hand. Two left feet welcome. Everyone sparkles in the finale.

Two friends raising pink cocktails in a candlelit Moroccan-style lounge, one in heart sunglasses

Burlesque class and dinner

The class, then a long table, still in feathers. The routine gets performed again between courses, whether the waiters asked for it or not.

A performer in a sequinned fringe jacket walking past a seated audience under stage lights

A burlesque show

Sit back and be dazzled. Our dancers on stage in sequins and feathers, the girls in their seats with a drink, and a performer who might just pull the bride into the act. In Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Two cabaret performers in top hats striking a pose on a stage framed by glowing circles

A cabaret dinner show

Dinner and cocktails, then velvet, feathers and cabaret sass from your reserved seats. The bride's only job is to applaud.

Friends in pyjamas with feather boas and balloons jumping on a hotel bed

Your own burlesque dancer at your place

Our dancer arrives at your apartment, hotel or Airbnb, performs for the bride and teaches the girls a move or two. The coffee table becomes a stage and the lounge room goes pure cabaret.

03 on stage or front row

Burlesque class or burlesque show: which one is her?

A class gives the whole crew a story. A show gives the bride the best seat in the house and a stage full of sparkle.

A hens crew posing with big white and grey feather fans at their burlesque class

On stage

If she'd love to be in it

A class is the one where everyone's in the routine, the bride included if she wants to be. You learn it together, you perform it for her, and somebody films the whole thing. That video will be threatened at the wedding. It's the pick for a crew that half knows each other, because one routine makes them a troupe.

Two friends gazing up in delight at a cabaret show, one filming it on her phone

Front row

If she'd love to watch it

A show is the one where our dancers bring the glitter. Sequins, feathers and rhinestones take the stage, the girls take their seats, and the bride sits back with a drink and soaks up every shimmy. Pick a cabaret dinner show and dinner comes first. Pick our dancer at your place and the whole act is aimed at her.

04 the cheek dial

Exactly as cheeky as the bride wants

As cheeky as the bride wants, and the bride's mum ends up with the fans.

Burlesque is glamour, sparkle and the art of the tease: the strut, the wink, the slow peel of a long satin glove. It's feminine, it's fierce, and every girl walks out feeling a million dollars. You tell us how cheeky the bride wants it when you book, and your burlesque host pitches the routine perfectly to the room. Anyone who'd rather watch takes the front row with a drink and cheers the loudest.

Her cheek level

Fans and winks

All feathers, walks and over-the-shoulder looks. Nan could do it. Nan might.

Gloves and a chair

A long glove peeled off finger by finger, a boa thrown over the shoulder and a chair to work. The sweet spot when she's half shy, half showgirl.

The full tease

Gloves, a boa, the chair and every ounce of sass in the room, aimed straight at the bride. All wink and all sparkle, and every second of it group-chat gold.

Tap the one that's her and it rides along when you tell us about her. Your host walks in knowing exactly how far to take it.

05 the troupe

Who a burlesque hens party suits

More crews than you'd think, including the ones who swear they can't dance.

  • Three friends in heart sunglasses dancing with their arms up in front of blue tinsel

    The two-left-feet crew

Two left feet make the best showgirls. It's the strut, the poses, a shimmy and the fans, taught in little pieces, and the laughing is half the magic.

  • A big hens crew in black crowded together at a bar, the bride in a white sequin cap

The mixed crew, mums and aunties included

School friends, work friends and her mum. One routine and suddenly they're a troupe, and Mum wants the front of the line.

  • A smiling bride in a pink sash cheek to cheek with a friend in a dim cocktail lounge

    The shy bride

She swears she'd hate the spotlight and secretly wants to be a showgirl for one night. Set her cheek level and let her surprise you.

  • A hens crew in pink and pastel dresses posing together around the bride in white

The crew that half knows each other

Nothing breaks the ice like learning a hip roll next to a stranger. By the finale, they're all swapping numbers.

  • Four friends in sparkly dresses posing together, the bride in a tiara and sash

    The pregnant bride

She's the audience it's all for: front row, feathers on, the best seat in the room while the girls perform it for her.

  • Three friends in feather boas and sunglasses singing into disco ball microphones in front of blue tinsel

Every bride, and brides marrying brides

For the crew who want it cheeky

Wow, I don’t even know where to start!! Saturday was A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y perfect, and I could not have ever imagined a better way to celebrate our wonderful bride to be! Adele was fabulous for burlesque, making us feel sexy and special. She was so lovely, and totally catered to our whims… even teaching us how to take off our knickers in a sexy way! Dinner was perfect, and every girl enjoyed their meal as well as the extensive cocktail list. Best part of the night was definitely the stretch hummer. Anthony was amazing! My only wish is that it should have gone longer. (Poor Anthony listening to our sing-a-longs!). Thank you thank you thank you for your help with this, and for making me appear like the most organised MOH ever ;-) I will definitely recommend your company to anyone planning a Hen’s night, and if I ever have this opportunity again, you will certainly hear from me too.

Thank you again to the whole team,

For the ones who think they can't

Our Burlesque package was fantastic!! Everyone felt so confident and we laughed so much, and all the girls commented that they didn't think they would actually be able to do it but they all did and had so much fun! The canapes were really great too and there was plenty to go around!! Thankyou My Ultimate Girls!!

The bride

In white, or red if she's feeling bold, so every eye finds her. A corset or a slip dress, long satin gloves, a feathered headpiece or a veil with a little drama in it, and the reddest lip in the room. She's the only one in her colour.

Friends in going-out dresses dancing and pulling poses around the bride, one kissing her cheek

The girls

Something you can roll your hips in. Sheer tights, or fishnets for the brave legs, a boa round every neck, and the dinner outfit folded in your bag for later.

Feet, hair and lashes

  • Shoes you can walk and turn in. A block heel, a low pump, or bare feet in the room.
  • Hair up. Pinned back and out of the way of the fans.
  • Lashes on before you arrive. Then you walk in camera-ready.
  • A red lip in your bag. For the photo after the finale.

Burlesque hens parties with My Ultimate Hens, at a glance

Everything above, in a few lines you can screenshot.

Who runs it
My Ultimate Hens, female founded in 2011, helping hens celebrate in six Australian cities, with our own burlesque hosts and dancers bringing the sparkle.
What it is
The most glamorous way to put the bride centre stage: every girl in the routine, two left feet and mum included, performing it just for her. It's a class with one of our own burlesque hosts, trained by us for hens nights, or a burlesque show, a cabaret dinner show or our dancer at your place, with the rest of her celebration built around it.
What happens
A warm-up, one routine with fans or boas taught a few steps at a time, the performance for the bride, then the photos.
How long
The routine is about an hour of struts, shimmies and feather fans, and the shows run 90 minutes. The whole celebration runs as long as you want it to.
What comes with it
Feather boas and glitzy accessories for every girl, so all you bring is the outfit. Want the bride in full showgirl costume? Just ask.
How cheeky
Her call, from fans and winks to the full tease, and your host pitches it to the room. Anyone who'd rather watch takes the front row.
What to wear
The girls in black or the group's dress code, something they can move in. The bride in white or red, the only one in her colour.
Group size
Six of you or thirty, it works a treat.
Who it suits
Crews with no dance experience, mixed ages with mums and aunties, groups that half know each other, shy brides, pregnant brides, and brides marrying brides.
Where
Burlesque classes in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide; burlesque and cabaret shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Price
Our burlesque hens packages usually sit around $150 to $350 per person.
Drinks
The fizz might be bubbles on arrival, a drinks package so nobody's queueing at the bar, or cocktails with dinner. Whatever suits your crew, and a toast to the bride either way.
Booking
Secure it with just your own share, with the second part following a few days later. The rest is in our hens party FAQs.

Burlesque hens party questions

Everything organisers ask us before the feathers come out.

What happens at a burlesque hens party?

Your burlesque host, one of our own, meets your crew, warms everyone up and teaches one routine with feather fans or boas, a few steps at a time. Then the girls perform it for the bride, the photos happen, and the rest of her night sparkles on around it.

Do we need to be able to dance?

No. Two left feet are perfect: the routine is the strut, the poses, a shimmy and the fans, taught in little pieces so the whole crew learns it together, and the laughing is half the magic.

How long is a burlesque class for a hens?

Our burlesque class is about an hour of struts, shimmies and feather fans, and how long the celebration goes is up to you. Our packages cater for every kind of hens, from an afternoon to the whole weekend.

How much does a burlesque hens party cost?

Our burlesque hens packages usually sit around $150 to $350 per person. Every package is the whole celebration, not just the burlesque. Pick her city to see them.

Is burlesque too cheeky for a hens with mums there?

No. It's as cheeky as the bride wants: all fans, struts and winks, or the full tease with gloves and a chair. You tell us the level, and your host pitches it so the mums are first in line for the finale.

Can mum, the aunties or anyone shy just watch?

Yes, absolutely. Anyone who'd rather watch takes the front row with a drink, cheers the loudest, and jumps in whenever the feathers call her name.

What do we wear to a burlesque hens party?

The girls wear black and something they can move in, with sheer tights or fishnets for the brave, the bride wears her own colour with long gloves or a feathered headpiece, and everyone packs the dinner outfit. More on what to wear to a hens night.

Burlesque class or burlesque show: which is better for a hens?

A class if you want the whole crew in the routine, performing it for the bride; a burlesque show or a cabaret dinner show if you'd love the bride to sit back with a drink and a stage full of sparkle.

Can the burlesque come to our Airbnb or hotel?

Yes. Our burlesque dancer can come to your apartment, hotel or Airbnb and turn the lounge room into a cabaret, or your host teaches the class at one of our favourite venues.

Can we choose the song?

Yes. Send us her favourites when you book and we'll have them worked into the night, the way Stephie's hens did in Brisbane, where our burlesque dancer included every song the organiser sent.

Are your burlesque instructors your own?

Yes. Every burlesque host and dancer is one of our own, trained by us and hired as My Ultimate Hens crew for hens nights, so she knows exactly how to make the bride sparkle and the whole crew feel like showgirls.

What props come with the class?

Feather boas and glitzy accessories for every girl, so all you bring is the outfit and the nerve. Want the bride in full showgirl costume? Just ask.

Can a pregnant bride do a burlesque hens party?

Yes. She can have the best seat in the room: the girls perform the routine for her, feathers on, or she picks a burlesque or cabaret show and soaks up every sequin.

Which cities do you have burlesque in?

Our burlesque classes are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide, and our burlesque and cabaret shows are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Questions about booking, payments and the rest? Every My Ultimate Hens question, answered.
