Ask any bride which hens photos she keeps, and it's rarely the posed ones. It's the candid shot of her laughing with paint on her fingertips and the girls leaning in around her. Soft Focus Bride is made for those photos. It's a watercolour class in a neon-lit room of your own, and a night that gets glossier with every frame after it. This is the hens for the bride who wants her memories to look as pretty as they felt.
First frame: aprons on and cocktails up. Your private room upstairs at our CBD cocktail bar is yours for two hours, glowing pink under neon signs with hanging greenery and sleek decor all around you. A house cocktail is in every hand before the first brush gets wet. The neon does the lighting for you, so all anyone has to do is lean in and smile.
Second frame: the paintings come to life. Your personal artist host has all the materials ready and guides everyone through the watercolour step by step, so the room fills with little gasps as each wash of colour blooms. The colours bleed softly into one another, which, let's be honest, is exactly the filter everyone wants. Capture the moment the whole group holds their paintings up at once, because every one of them is going home with you.
Third frame: the close-up. When the class wraps, you move out to your reserved table in the dining room for the chef's selection share plates. Shoot the table before anyone dives in; share plates make a very good flat lay. Then the bride gets a bonus cocktail all to herself. Zoom in on her face when it arrives, then pan across to the girls cheering her on.
Final frame: velvet and bubbly. It's an easy teeter to our glam cocktail lounge down a Melbourne laneway, where VIP entry is sorted and the cover charge is waived. Your plush velvet booth is yours for two hours, and the glittering pendants and custom neon give everyone that soft, flattering glow. Then the surprise: a bottle of bubbly for your hen, poured for the whole group. Get the bottle in the shot before the first glass is poured. When the music calls, the dance floor is right there, and the last video of the night is everyone dancing the night away around her.
Scroll back through it all the next morning and there's a whole story in soft focus, from the first cocktail to the last dance. Somewhere in that camera roll is the shot that matters most: the two of you in the booth, glasses up, both grinning like you pulled it off. You did.
