Serving Looks, Getting Served At Her Service Hens Weekend.
Between work, life admin, wedding planning and the general business of being a person with things to do, this group is very good at keeping life moving. But not this weekend. At Her Service Hens Weekend is the Ultimate Hens Bachelorette Pad Apartment, grazing delivered to the door, a topless waiter taking over bar duty, then share plates and two hours of flowing drinks at our laneway cocktail lounge in the city. Sometimes getting the girls together doesn't need a deeper reason. Sometimes grazing, good drinks and very good scenery are reason enough.
Settle into the Bach Pad, drop the bags and let the couch fill well past its intended capacity. Before long, the grazing arrives at the door, with a generous mix of sweet and savoury spread across the table and favourites getting claimed before anyone's tasted a thing. The weekend has officially started.
Then comes the knock everyone's been pretending not to wait for. Your topless waiter arrives and takes over bar duty for two hours, keeping the drinks poured. Grazing on the table, the bride's favourite people around her and a little eye candy behind the bar? Nobody's finding much to complain about. He joins in the hens games too, and poses for the group photos, so get them while you've got him. This particular addition to the Bach Pad deserves documenting.
Once he's gone, the only thing being served at the Bach Pad is looks. The living room becomes a getting-ready station, outfits cover every available surface and the mirror consultation begins. Somebody changes her outfit at the last possible second and everyone weighs in like the decision has international consequences. Getting ready with the girls remains one of life's great pre-drink activities.
Then it's into the city to our laneway cocktail lounge, where your reserved seating is waiting and the chef's share plates land on the table as the first round gets underway. For two hours, the drinks package keeps the house wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks flowing, plates get passed, glasses get raised and whatever started as share plates very quickly becomes the night out.
When the plates are cleared, your group is already on the guest list, so there's no reason at all to call it a night. Stay on and dance, or eventually head home, where the Bach Pad couch gets its second sitting of the day and any leftover grazing gets raided in party shoes. The debrief can handle the rest.
