There are hens weekends you already know she'll love, and then there are the ones where somebody throws a new idea into the group chat and everyone immediately wants in. Pole class, anyone? Spin Me Down The Aisle Weekend is your excuse to give it a go, with the Ultimate Hens Bachelorette Pad Apartment, a private pole class with bubbly, tapas by the river and a VIP booth at our laneway cocktail lounge to finish. The bride might arrive having never touched a pole before. We make no promises about how quickly the new obsession develops.
Start at the Bach Pad, where the bags get dropped, the music goes on and everyone settles into weekend mode. There's something fun about getting ready when none of you quite knows what the next few hours are going to look like. One thing you do know? You're all doing it together.
Then it's time to get on it. Your private class runs for 90 minutes with your My Ultimate Hens dance host, and a glass of bubbly each first for a little liquid courage. Beginners welcome, nobody has to be good. Learn your first moves, try a few spins and discover the satisfaction of getting something you couldn't do five minutes earlier. Then comes “one more try”. And another. Someone nails a move and the whole room erupts, somebody else is determined to get hers before the class ends, and everyone understands why pole gets addictive so quickly.
After class, head down to our riverside restaurant where your reserved table, a glass of bubbly each, a cocktail for the bride and tapas for the group are waiting. Later at the Bach Pad, it's the inevitable photo review and debrief. There'll be favourite moves, screenshots, a few newly discovered muscles making themselves known and at least one person mentioning that she's already found a studio near home. You came for one class. Pole has other ideas.
