Headphones On. World Off.
Volume all the way up. For the next two hours the world outside your door stops existing. It's a seven-strong crew with the bride front and centre, singing like nobody's listening, because nobody is. Headphones On is for the group that already has a dance routine to one particular song, and a bride who knows every single word of it.
The party begins in your own VIP room at our city venue, booked for two whole hours, where neon signs and hanging greenery make the stunning decor look incredible on camera. Phones out for the first group photo while the neon does the flattering. A cocktail is waiting for every one of you on arrival, and that first clink is the sound of the working week officially ending.
Then the headphones come out and the two hour silent disco begins. It's all for your group, with a pair of headphones for every guest, and the room becomes your very own dance floor. It starts with giggling, and then the bride throws her arms up and belts out a chorus nobody outside the headphones can hear. Within seconds the whole crew is singing too, loud and gloriously off-key. Pitch is optional in here. Enthusiasm is compulsory.
The photo you want is the bride mid-dance-move, arms in the air, surrounded by her girls all pulling the exact same face. Snap it, and snap the one where she's laughing too hard to finish the line. Those two are going in the wedding slideshow.
Headphones off, appetites on. The crew moves to a reserved seating area in our main dining room, where delicious share plates hit the table and a bonus cocktail lands in front of the bride. This is where she gets to relive her big solo, and everyone agrees it was a triumph. The bar is right there too, for anyone keen to toast the performance with another round.
Then it's out into the Melbourne laneways and on to our glam cocktail lounge. Your VIP booth is reserved for two hours, and the cover charge is waived for the whole crew. Custom neon and glittering pendants: this is where the night puts its sparkle back on. A surprise bottle of bubbly arrives for your hen, and just beyond the booth there's a dance floor with the music playing out loud this time. Speakers on. Dance the night away!
And when she drags you out for one more song with the whole crew behind her, you'll be right beside her in the middle of it all, the one who turned the volume up in the first place.
