There are brides who wear perfume, and there are brides who leave it hanging in the air long after they have left the room. If yours is the second kind, with a bathroom shelf of bottles and strong opinions about every one of them, Signature Scent is her hens. It is polished and beautifully personal: an afternoon spent creating a fragrance that belongs to her, followed by share plates and a velvet booth that sparkles well into the night. Imagine her walking down the aisle wearing a scent she made at her own hens.
It begins in your own private room in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, yours for two whole hours, where soft pink hues and neon signs meet hanging greenery and sleek, stunning decor. A round of cocktails meets you at the door. Take a sip and meet your dedicated fragrance expert, who comes to you with every material and piece of equipment the workshop needs, plus an apron for everyone.
Here's where it gets delicious. One by one, you smell and evaluate individual fragrance notes, and the table turns into a chorus of "oh, she would love this one". Your expert explains how the notes work together, from the ones you meet first to the ones that stay, and then it's your turn to blend. Everyone gravitates to something different. The bride gets the most attention of all, with every girl leaning in to help her find the combination that is completely her.
Your finished perfume is decanted into a glass bottle with a custom label, and each of you takes home a personalised scent profile card that captures exactly what you created. Two hours in, the table is lined with little labelled bottles and the camera roll is full of close ups. Take home your creation, and one spritz of it will bring this whole day flooding back.
Last bottle labelled? Out you go to your reserved table in the main dining room, where the share plates start landing and the girls take turns offering up their wrists for a sniff. A bonus cocktail makes its way to your hen, because the girl with the new signature scent gets first dibs on everything today.
Then the evening turns glamorous. Glittering pendants and custom neon set the mood at our glam laneway cocktail lounge, just an easy teeter away, where the cover charge is waived and a plush velvet VIP booth is reserved for your group for two hours. Settle in and wait for the surprise. A bottle of bubbly arrives for your hen, and the first glass is hers. When the music gets too good to ignore, the dance floor is right on the doorstep. Dance the night away, fragrance and all!
