Meeting Called To Order. Motion Carried.
Let the minutes show that one bride and six of her favourite people are present, and that nobody intends to stick to the agenda. There will be cocktails. There will be glitter. There will be cheese boards, handmade by the attendees. There will be a velvet booth for the after party. Board Meeting is the hens for a bride who loves a well-run table, and for a crew who fully intend to take the minutes and lose them by the second cocktail.
Item one: cocktails. The meeting convenes at our CBD venue in your own VIP room, all yours for two hours, and a cocktail is handed to every attendee on arrival. Blush pink hues and hanging plants under a neon glow make it the prettiest boardroom any of you will ever sit in, with stunning decor in every corner. All in favour of a toast? Carried!
Item two: the boards. Your personal resin artist host arrives with every art material you need, from the glossy resin and shimmering pigments right down to the sleek wooden boards and an apron each. This two hour resin board workshop is just for your group, with step by step instruction as you pour the resin and swirl the colours into patterns nobody could plan. Then decorate your way. The bride's board, of course, gets the most attention in the room and very possibly a round of applause. By the end, everyone has made a cheeseboard to take home, packed in its own box and carry bag. Minutes of the meeting: the boards are gorgeous and the camera roll is full.
Item three: share plates. The meeting adjourns to your reserved seating in our main dining area, where delicious share plates land on the table. The chair of the board gets a bonus cocktail, naturally, because tonight the bride outranks everyone.
Item four: any other business. It turns out there is quite a lot of it. A short stroll away, tucked down a Melbourne laneway, our glam cocktail lounge has your VIP booth ready for two hours, with the cover charge waived. Low lighting and plush velvet glow under custom neon signs and glittering pendants, and then the surprise lands on the table: a bottle of bubbly for your hen. The dance floor is right on the doorstep, so when the meeting finally breaks into dancing the night away, nobody has far to go.
When the final vote is taken, somewhere between the bubbly and the dance floor, the motion will be unanimous: you ran this meeting beautifully. The bride will say so herself, raising her glass to you with a grin that says she's already planning where the board will live. And long after the wedding, every time that cheeseboard comes out, the board reconvenes.
