Pecs and Palettes is a Saturday paint and sip for a tight crew of seven, bride included, who like their creativity with a generous splash of cheek. No gallery hush here. Just cocktails, colour, a lot of giggling and a model who knows exactly how to hold a pose!
The mood is set the second you step into your private room in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, with neon glowing against girly pink hues and greenery trailing from above. The decor is stunning and so, frankly, is the view. Your topless waiter is on duty from the moment you walk in, handing round a cocktail for everyone before a single brush is wet. He's with your group for two hours and private to you, which means every cheeky comment stays in the room. Cheers to that!
Aprons on, palettes out. Your own artist host has every material ready and walks you through each step, from the first rough outline to the finishing highlights on those very impressive pecs. Your waiter strikes cheeky poses as the muse and moves around the room so nobody misses a thing. Colour mixing turns into a team sport, and the unofficial prize for truest likeness is hotly contested. Meanwhile the bride gets plenty of special attention from her muse, plus a hens game or two to keep her blushing.
When the brushes finally go down, every girl takes her canvas home, so the pecs live on long after the paint dries. First, though, the bride holds her canvas up beside the real thing for a side-by-side comparison. That's the photo the group chat has been waiting for.
Next, the party spills out to a reserved table in the main dining room, set with delicious share plates for the whole crew. The bonus cocktail belongs to your hen, of course. Artists need refuelling, and brides need spoiling.

The dance floor sits right on your doorstep, so when her song comes on, you know exactly where to find her.
