Here is the plan, girls. Just the six of you, bride included, gathered around a table of glittering glass in your own pink neon room, trying very hard to concentrate on your mosaics while a shirtless man runs the games. Some of you will make art. Some of you will make eye contact. Either way, it's her hens after all, and nobody is judging which one you choose.
It all begins in the heart of the city, where your own VIP room is yours for two whole hours. Pink hues and neon signs glow over hanging greenery, and the decor is stunning from every angle. A round of cocktails is in every hand before anyone has put her bag down. Clink clink! Your expert mosaic instructor is ready at the table with a template for everyone and all the mosaic tools and materials. Then out comes a whole rainbow of colourful glass pieces, and the afternoon officially gets creative.
And then he walks in. Your My Ultimate Hens topless waiter is with your group for two hours, and he is here for your girls and nobody else. His job description? Games and eye candy fun. Between tile placements he runs the hens games, and in between the games he poses for every photo the girls can dream up, with special attention saved for the bride. Keeping a steady hand when he leans over to admire your work? Honestly, good luck. The camera roll fills up fast in here: wonky tiles, a tray held at a very flattering angle, the maid of honour pretending not to look, and the bride laughing so hard she drops a piece of glass.
Meanwhile, the bride has a surprise of her own. A DIY hanging decor kit is waiting for her as a special gift, so the creativity doesn't have to stop when the class does. It gets surprisingly addictive once the designs start coming together, and by the end of the two hour mosaic workshop every girl has a piece that is completely her own.
When your room time is up, the night simply moves out to the main dining room, where your reserved seating area is waiting. Delicious share plates start landing on the table and, of course, a bonus cocktail is on its way to your hen. Tiles get admired and photos get passed along the table, while somebody quietly asks whether the waiter has a brother.
Then it's an easy teeter to the finale. Tucked down a Melbourne laneway, our glam cocktail lounge waves you past the cover charge and into a velvet VIP booth that is yours for two hours. A small crew suits a booth perfectly: everyone is in and nobody is stranded at the far end, and a surprise bottle of bubbly lands for your hen as you slide in. When her song comes on, the dance floor is right there, and nothing stands between the bride and a very good time. Dance the night away, girls.
Late in the night, when the bride slides back into the booth to catch her breath, she'll squeeze in right next to you. Glasses up, both of you grinning at the camera: that's the photo that ends up on the fridge, and everybody in it knows exactly who made this happen.
