Fast forward to the good bit: the whole crew sweeping into a VIP booth, every face flawless and every lash in place. Nobody did her eyeliner in a bathroom mirror, and nobody is hiding at the edge of the booth photo. Contour Crew is how you get there. It's for the big glam squad that wants to arrive together and look incredible together. The professionals handle the faces. You handle the fun.
Now rewind a few hours. It all starts backstage, in your own private room in the heart of the Melbourne CBD: a two hour VIP room hire wrapped in girly pink hues and neon lighting, with hanging plants and stunning decor in every corner. A round of cocktails on arrival gets the crew toasting the bride before the first brush is lifted. Then the professional makeup artist team works its way around the room, one forty five minute makeup makeover per person, a full face from eyes to lips, finished with false lashes! Soft and glowy, or bold red lip and serious contour? Just tell your artist. Whoever is out of the chair runs the hens games and gives very loud feedback.
Somewhere mid contour, the bride will look up from her chair at a room full of her favourite women getting glammed around her, all of them there for her. That's the picture. Somebody capture it.
With every face done, the crew moves out to your reserved seating area in the main dining room. The delicious share plates land one after another, and a bonus cocktail heads to your hen, looking every inch the main character. This is the table where the crew finally sees itself all together, fully glammed. Every phone at the table comes out at once, so count how many strangers stop to ask who did your makeup.
Then the whole crew parades out, and it's barely a stroll before you reach our glam cocktail lounge, tucked into a Melbourne laneway. And here it is, the moment from the top of the page: you sweep in with VIP entry and the cover charge waived, straight into your VIP booth for two hours of plush velvet and glittering pendants. A surprise bottle of bubbly for your hen arrives right on cue for the toast, and after that there's nothing left to do but dance the night away, contour intact.
