Sparkle Tonight. Brunch Tomorrow.
It's the morning after the hens. Somebody is still wearing last night's lashes. Somebody is humming the song from the booth. Somebody has a pearl stuck to her elbow and no idea how it got there. And nobody, not one single person, is standing at a stove, because brunch has just been delivered and the whole group is piled around it replaying every moment. That's the scene Bead and Breakfast Weekend is built around, for the bride who loves a sleepover every bit as much as a big night out. So let's rewind.
The weekend starts when you check in and the bags hit the floor, with a bed for every guest and the city right on your doorstep. Clear the table, because the afternoon belongs to the beads. Each of you gets her own bead mosaic kit: a cut out mosaic shape ready to be covered in rhinestones and pearls, plus letters if you want to spell something out. Every mosaic tool and material is in there too, from the glue and paint to the brush and cotton tips, along with instructions made for your piece and a video demonstration to follow.
Something happens around a table full of sparkle. The chat gets louder while the pearls get absolutely everywhere. Then the competitive streak comes out in the quietest girl. No two pieces end up looking the same. And the bride's? Chances are the letters spell out something about her, and the girls make sure hers is the most dazzling piece on the table.
By sundown the beads are swapped for bubbles. Frock up and head for our Parisian cocktail lounge straight out of the Roaring Twenties, dripping in red and gold, with velvet chesterfields and hanging plants in every corner. It's a seriously glam venue, and honestly, it looks like it was made for a hens. Your reserved seating for the group is waiting, and a round of bubbly arrives the second you do, with a round of delicious cocktails to follow. A charcuterie platter comes out for some delicious grazing between sips, and the bride gets her first proper toast of the night with her girls all around her. But the girls aren't done sparkling yet. The night ends in the heart of the city, in a VIP booth hidden inside a laneway cocktail lounge, where custom neon glows over plush velvet and the dance floor sits right on the doorstep. The booth is yours for two hours with entry sorted and no cover charge. Before she has even settled in, a bottle of bubbly arrives as a surprise for your hen. Dance the night away, and the booth keeps your seats warm between songs. Nobody has to get home, because home is a short walk away.
Which brings us right back to that morning. Brunch is delivered to you, delicious brunch grazing with a mix of sweet and savoury items, and the group gathers round, still in last night's glitter, to piece the night back together. The bride, a plate in one hand and her mosaic in the other, looks around at her girls and then at you, and you'll know the whole thing landed. Nobody cooked and nobody wanted to leave.
