22 best hens party gift ideas she’ll actually love

No, you don’t have to bring a gift to a hens. If you do, the best ones say one thing: we know you. Here are 22 we’d happily hand over, from the first toast to the Sunday after, with who each one suits, who it’s best from and when to give it.

On the night

Open it at the first toast

Gifts that get used before the night is out. Hand them over early and they become part of it.

To her

1. A personalised champagne glass

For the bride who’ll want it at every anniversary

Engrave her new initials or a date that means something to the two of them. She toasts with it all night, then it comes out again for anniversaries, dinner parties and every time someone needs a reason to celebrate.

From youWhen before the first round lands

2. A hens night survival kit

For the bride doing four stops in heels

A small pouch of what she’ll actually reach for: lip balm, mints, hair ties, blister plasters, a snack and something for the morning. Tuck a handwritten note from the group in the bottom. The table laughs when she opens it. She’s quietly grateful at midnight.

3. A bride sash or shirt

For the bride who’s happy to be spotted

Bride To Be, her name, or something cheekier that suits her. It marks her out in every photo and every room you walk into. For a quieter bride, one lovely piece beats a slogan. Styling the rest? Here’s what to wear on a hens night.

From the groupWhen before you head out

4. A bride jacket

For the bride who’ll wear it again

A denim or bomber jacket with Mrs and her new surname across the back. She wears the title before the wedding does, and it comes out again for the honeymoon photos.

From pooledWhen first thing, so it’s in every photo

5. An instant camera

For the bride who’ll want proof

Instead of every photo vanishing into twelve camera rolls, real prints get passed around the table and signed on the back. Add two spare film packs. She goes home with a handful of actual photos from the actual night.

From you, or pooledWhen at the start, so it gets used all night

6. Wine glass charms

For the table that loves a long lunch

Everyone keeps track of their own glass, and each charm says a little about who it belongs to. Small, useful, and they go home with her for the first dinner party she hosts as a married woman.

From youWhen as everyone sits down

7. A prosecco pong set

For the bride who’s always up for a game

Once everyone’s settled, it pulls the whole group into ten minutes of very competitive nonsense and at least one photo she’ll love. Want more like it? Here are 23 hens party games.

From you, or pooledWhen once the room has warmed up

8. A clip-on ring light

For the bride who wants every photo usable

Bars and restaurants are rarely lit for photos. A small ring light clipped to a phone fixes the group shot at every stop, and it’s tiny enough to live in her bag.

Worth pooling for

From all of you

The ones that land hardest, because nobody could have given them alone. One person collects, and one card carries every name.

9. A video montage from the people who love her

For the bride who cries at ads

Collect short messages from every chapter of her life: school, uni, work, family, the aunt who couldn’t make it. Keep each one under 30 seconds. When it plays, the room goes quiet for the first time all night, in the best way.

From everyone, plus the ones who can’t be thereWhen early, before the night gets loud

10. A memory scrapbook

For the sentimental bride

Ask each guest for one page: a photo, a line about what she means to them, a memory she’s forgotten. Put it together before the night and it becomes the thing she pulls out for years.

From everyone comingWhen at the table, so it gets passed around

11. Coordinates jewellery

For the bride with a story

A fine bracelet or necklace engraved with a set of coordinates. It looks like pretty jewellery until she reads it and realises it’s where they met, where they got engaged or where they’re getting married. That second of recognition is the gift.

From pooled, or the maid of honourWhen during a toast

12. A pamper day voucher

For the bride deep in wedding admin

Fittings, tastings, family dinners and decisions on top of decisions. A massage or facial gives her a few hours where nobody needs an answer from her.

From pooledWhen any time, it keeps

13. A photo book voucher

For the bride with three thousand photos on her phone

Between the hens, the wedding and the honeymoon, there will be hundreds of photos. A photo book voucher turns them into something she can hold. The photos exist. This makes sure they don’t stay in the cloud forever.

Keepsakes

After the hens

Quieter gifts for home, given on Sunday rather than carried through four stops and a car ride.

14. A personalised ring dish

For the bride who takes her ring off to cook

A small ceramic dish with their initials or the wedding date. It holds her engagement ring now and both rings later, and she sees it every day.

From youWhen at home after the hens

15. A signature scented candle

For the bride who remembers by smell

Pick a scent for this whole season of her life. Long after the wedding, lighting it takes her straight back to the fittings, the hens and the nerves.

From youWhen at home after the hens

16. Personalised sleepwear

For the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids

Silk or soft cotton with her initials on the pocket. It can double as her getting-ready outfit on the wedding morning, which puts it in the photos twice.

From you, or the bridal partyWhen ready for the wedding morning

17. Open-when letters

For the bride who keeps every card

A bundle of sealed letters, each marked for a moment: open on the wedding morning, open on your first anniversary, open after your first proper argument. Everyone writes one. She’ll open them for years.

From everyoneWhen at home, tied with a ribbon

18. A recipe book from the women who love her

For the bride who loves a long dinner

Ask each guest for one recipe they make on repeat, handwritten if possible, with a line about who taught it to them. It’s the kitchen tea tradition with more personality, and it gets used.

What comes next

Gifts that look past the wedding day to what she’s walking into.

19. A honeymoon-inspired gift

For the bride already counting down to the trip

Match it to where they’re going. Italy? A spritz set or a beautiful limoncello. Paris? French champagne or a gorgeous travel guide. Bali? A rattan bag and some local-inspired skincare. It shows you’ve thought about what comes next, not just tonight.

20. A personalised luggage tag

For the bride with a new surname to show off

Her new initials, or a small Mrs detail. A little thrill every time she spots her suitcase on the carousel.

From youWhen any time before the honeymoon

21. A cocktail kit for her favourite drink

For the bride who loves a good cocktail

Everything for her signature serve: the tools, a good recipe card and the one ingredient she never has. If her hens includes a cocktail making class, she’ll already know exactly what to do with it.

22. An experience instead of a thing

For the bride who’d rather do than own

Three friends holding up the flamingo canvases they painted at a hens paint and sip

Some of the best gifts are things you do together. Book a paint and sip for the group and she goes home with something she made, from a day everyone was part of.

05 · Timing is half the gift

When to hand it over

The same gift can land beautifully or end up under a table. The difference is usually when.

  1. First toast

    Everyone’s seated with a glass

The room is paying attention and she isn’t juggling a bag. That’s the moment for the glass, the kit and the sash.

  2. Later on

    The cheeky one waits

Save it until the audience is right and the mums have headed home.

  3. One card

A group gift gets one giver

One person hands it over, with one card and every name on it, so nobody’s left wondering who chipped in.

  4. Sunday

    Framed, fragile or heavy

It goes home with the organiser and reaches her after the hens. Nothing breakable enjoys four stops and a car ride.

The presents that don’t come wrapped

A big thank you to everyone who was involved in our hens booking for a couple of weekends ago! The bride loved it and every detail was just perfect from the beautiful views at the accommodation to the photo of the bride and groom at the lunch! It was an amazing weekend thanks to all of you involved!

Kaitlin M., Easy Weddings

Hi Nyree, we have just come home from Gabbis hens weekend and wanted to email you to say the biggest thankyou :) we had the best time everything was perfect, Alex your life drawing model was so hot and we got some pretty funny photos which I have attached, don't just our drawings though lol. The dinner was really wonderful and Gabbs loved having the picture of her and Joel printed on the menu as a surprise. Our other sister is getting married at the end of next year and we cant wait to work with you and your team again to make it happen all over again. Thankyou for answering our thousand questions and making us like look the best sisters of all time! Love Shell and Vicks xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I was a MOH for the first time and feeling the pressure because she is not into the tacky hens thing at all. What I liked most was that Britt actually understood the difference between 'things to do on a hens' and planning a good hens that felt like an actual celebration not a bunch of bookings together because obviously I could have booked a cocktail class and dinner or whatever myself obviously. I only realised after that I just wouldn't have known which combination would suit our group, what order to do it all in or half the little details and personalised touches for the bride that made the whole night what it was. So there's definitely more thought behind these packages than I realised before booking and she absolutely loved it and apparently I'm now the designated event organiser of the group. Would 100% use them again and a big thankyou to Britt and Maddi as well for everything that went into making it so good!

Vanessa S., maid of honour, Google

My Maid of Honour planned the best hens night ever for my with the help of Heather and the lovely girls at My Ultimate Hens Co. They surprised us by putting champagne in the limo and our cocktail making class was BRILLIANT! Thankyou from a VERY happy bride!!

Lee R., the bride, Easy Weddings

Every one of those was a My Ultimate Hens night. Our packages have room for those personal touches, so the night itself can say we know you as clearly as anything in a gift bag. And it’s the organiser who gets thanked. Read more reviews.

Quick answers

Good to know

Do you have to bring a gift to a hens?

No. Unless the invitation asks for one, turning up for her is the main event. If you’d like to bring something, a small personal gift or a share in one group gift both work. More on hens gift etiquette.

What’s a good hens gift from the whole group?

Something one person couldn’t give alone: a video montage, a memory scrapbook, coordinates jewellery or a pamper voucher. One person collects the money and one card carries every name.

When should you give the bride her hens gift?

At the first toast, while everyone’s seated and paying attention. Anything framed, fragile or heavy is better given at home after the hens.

What do you get a bride who says she doesn’t want anything?

Something she’ll use on the night and never has to carry home: a survival kit, an instant camera or a glass she toasts with. Or make the night itself the gift.

What’s a good hens gift for a bride who doesn’t drink?

Skip the glassware. An instant camera, a memory scrapbook, a ring dish, a pamper voucher or an experience such as paint and sip all work beautifully.
