Drag queen hens party games, from the pre-drinks to her finale

The best drag queen hens is a show from the first drink: a couple of games before she arrives, your queen doing what she does best, and one big finale after. Everything below is in running order, with the rules, the printables and the brief that gets the bride’s stories to your queen before the night.

Her school friends know one version of the story. Her work friends are about to hear it. Pick the games that sound like her, copy the plan for the group chat, and keep the best part for yourself: being in the room when she starts laughing.

Your games night in two taps

Tell us where she’s celebrating and how much of the spotlight she wants, and we’ll deal you three games in running order, what to print, and where your queen fits in between.

A night that works for nearly every crew: guess who wrote it while everyone arrives, the pop divas quiz before your queen’s set, and a lip sync battle after the show. Tap one of each above for a plan built around her.

The three spotlight names are the same ones your queen works to on the night. Set her spotlight when you book, and the two pages speak one language.

Act 01

Before she arrives: games for the pre-drinks

The first laugh can be something only her friends would know. Cards on the table while everyone settles in, one reader, and the school friends and the work friends have somewhere to start.

Two short games before she walks in is the sweet spot. Everyone has written something, everyone has laughed at something, and the room is already hers when the heels hit the hallway.

Three cards in and her “five minutes away” has become the running joke. She is already preparing her defence.

You needOne roast card per guest, pens and one reader with good timing.

How to playroast with love
  1. Everyone finishes one prompt with something short and affectionate: a habit, a catchphrase, a story she already tells on herself.
  2. One friend reads through the cards first and quietly sets aside anything the bride would not enjoy hearing out loud.
  3. Read five to eight. Give her a quick right of reply after each one if she wants it.
  4. Finish with a real toast. The joke lands on a habit everyone recognises; the love gets the last word.
  • In the crowdFriends read their own cards to the table. She gets to listen and roll her eyes.
  • A little spotlightShe picks three cards to hear and gets one line back on each.
  • Front and centreShe chooses the reader, hears the full set and closes with her defence.

Make it work: the newest friend writes about last month. Knowing her the longest is not a requirement.

The promptsthree editions

Sweet

  • Her idea of travelling light is...
  • If she says she’s nearly ready, we know...
  • The phrase that belongs on her family crest is...
  • Her most dramatic reaction to a tiny inconvenience was...
  • Her partner is marrying her and also signing up for...
  • The most recognisable thing about a night out with her is...

Cheeky

  • Her flirting face looks exactly like...
  • Getting ready takes her this long because...
  • She is certain she knows the DJ’s next song, and...
  • Her 2am message to the group chat usually says...
  • The outfit she swears she’ll wear again is...
  • If her camera roll could talk, it would say...

Spicy

  • The honeymoon playlist is called...
  • Her come-hither look has been described as...
  • The pick-up line that actually worked on her was...
  • Three words for the honeymoon suite...
  • The morning after the wedding, she’ll be...
  • Her bedroom eyes have been known to...

Two we’d write: “Travelling light means one suitcase for her clothes and another for the possibilities.” “Her partner is marrying her and also signing up for hearing the full menu read aloud before she orders her usual.”

She hears the words “wrong train” and looks straight at her sister. Across the table, a work friend leans in for the rest.

You needMemory slips, pens in one colour, an envelope and a reader.

How to playthe best icebreaker there is
  1. Each guest writes a two-sentence memory of the bride with one clue in it, and leaves the front unsigned.
  2. Her name goes on the folded back, for the reader only.
  3. The reader draws a slip. The bride guesses who wrote it.
  4. The writer owns up and adds the detail she left out.
  5. After six to eight, the rest of the slips go in the envelope. She takes them home.

Make it work: read a mix from different corners of her life. For a big crew, read eight and keep every card. Nobody has to write the funniest story or the oldest one.

Memory promptssix starters
  • The moment I knew we’d get along...
  • The trip that did not follow the itinerary...
  • The smallest thing she did that meant a lot...
  • The time we were absolutely convinced we had a plan...
  • The thing she always does that makes me laugh...
  • A recent moment with her I already want to remember...

For the group chat

  • Bring one short memory of the bride: funny, lovely or a bit of both. Two sentences, with a clue she might recognise. We’ll read a few on the night and see if she can pick who wrote them.

The die lands on four. Someone sits up like she has been waiting all evening to tell this story.

You needOne die and the two-sided card.

How to playone roll, one answer
  1. Pick the sweet side or the spicy side before the round starts.
  2. Roll, and answer the matching prompt in a sentence or two.
  3. Pass the die. A pass is always allowed, no forfeit.
  4. One turn each, then stop while everyone still wants another.

Make it work: a big group rolls in table-sized huddles. One circle of thirty turns swallows the evening.

The six promptsboth sides

Sweet side

  1. Give the bride’s entrance a three-word introduction.
  2. Which song belongs to a night out with her?
  3. What tiny thing instantly reminds you of her?
  4. What would her tour rider absolutely include?
  5. What should she get a lifetime achievement award for?
  6. Give her a ten-second toast.

Spicy side

  1. Name her honeymoon playlist.
  2. Deliver a knowingly terrible pick-up line to the room.
  3. Describe her flirting style as a weather forecast.
  4. Give your best come-hither look, or nominate yourself as judge.
  5. Invent a glamorous title for her honeymoon suite.

Her lifelong habit of arriving dressed for a better event has finally earned her a stage name.

You needScraps of paper, or everyone’s phone notes.

How to playa name she keeps
  1. One minute on the clock: everyone writes a stage name for the bride.
  2. Read them out without saying who wrote what.
  3. She crowns her favourite, or puts it to the table.
  4. Use it all night, and announce her with it at the finale.

Start with a habit, an accessory or something she loves: Velvet RSVP, Miss Five More Minutes, Duchess of the Dance Floor. Keep it affectionate; the name is a compliment with sequins on. Stuck? Our drag name finder will do it in one tap.

While she’s there: what your queen brings

The cards can wait. Your queen arrives with the bride’s story already in her brief and a room to bring it to life. Pull your chair in beside the bride. This is your part of the night to enjoy too.

Briefed on the bride

She walks in already knowing the story

Before the night, we ask about the proposal, the in-jokes and the friend who gets everyone going, and your queen gets all of it before she arrives. She roasts the groom, runs her games and the drag bingo, performs her show, and lines everyone up for the photo. The bride picks how much of the spotlight she wants: in the crowd, a little spotlight, or front and centre. The cheek lives in the jokes, the roast and the songs.

If the funny part of the proposal is what happened before the ring came out, put that in the brief too. That is the kind of detail she’ll use.

Her show runs around 30 minutes and drag bingo about an hour. Leave that time clear; the games on this page sit either side of it. She can come to your apartment, hotel or Airbnb in all six cities.

Act 03

After the show: the finale games

The room has found its voice. Now pick one last thing to play: a chorus performed with far too much conviction, a runway with some very serious judging, or a crown handed to a completely delighted winner.

Pick one, or play the set if the night has room. Her queen’s show is the main event; this is the encore, and the encore has a judging panel.

Her friend has been practising this chorus in the car for years. Tonight she finally has a panel.

You needA private space, a speaker, someone on the music, and the bracket or the scorecards.

How to playone chorus, full commitment
  1. Willing performers enter as solos, duos or small teams. Everyone else judges or cheers, which is a perfectly good part.
  2. Draw the pairs. Each match gets one song; both acts do the same short chorus, one after the other.
  3. About 30 seconds each. It is about commitment and expression, not singing. Nobody sings.
  4. The room votes A or B. One vote each; performers sit out their own match.
  5. Winners go through. In a tie, ten more seconds each and the bride decides, if she wants that job.
  6. After the final, the bride picks the last chorus and anyone who wants in, is in.
  • In the crowdShe picks the songs and watches her friends take it extremely seriously.
  • A little spotlightShe announces the finalists, or joins a duet.
  • Front and centreShe enters the battle, or takes the closing chorus.

Only five minutes? Skip the tournament. Two willing acts, one chorus each and a shared finale still gives the night its ending. More songs: our twelve lip sync anthems card and the hens party songs list.

Brief your queen

She calls every holiday “a quiet one”, then books six things before breakfast. That is the detail worth putting in the brief. Give your queen the stories, the people and the amount of spotlight that sounds like her.

When you book, we ask about the bride: the proposal, the in-jokes, the ringleader. Your queen gets it before the night. Fill this in now, while the stories are fresh, and copy it straight into your enquiry or to your package consultant. Nothing here goes anywhere until you send it.

Every box can be two words. A good brief is the nickname and the reason behind it, not an essay.

Alanah W., Easy Weddings verified review, a Gold Coast hens weekend with our drag queen

We organised the Dine & Drag Divas hens package on the Gold Coast for one of our work mates and it was honestly such a fun and memorable night. From the first enquiry, the team at My Ultimate were incredible to deal with. They were so responsive, helpful, and really went out of their way to personalise the experience to suit our group and make it special for the bride-to-be. It made the whole planning process feel easy and stress free, which is exactly what you want when organising a hens.

The night itself was an absolute blast. The energy, the performances, the laughs, everything just came together perfectly. Our bride felt celebrated and spoiled, and the whole group had such a great time together. It was one of those nights where you are still talking about it weeks later.

If you are looking for something a bit different for a hens party that is entertaining, well organised, and genuinely fun, I would highly recommend this experience.

Quick answers

Good to know about drag queen hens games

What games can you play at a drag queen hens party?

Before your queen arrives: memory slips, affectionate roast cards, roll and tell, name her queen, or a pop divas quiz. While she is there, she runs the roast, her games and the drag bingo, then performs her show. After the show: a lip sync battle, a runway walk-off and the crowning. Pick the ones that sound like the bride, the space and the time you have.

How do you run a lip sync battle at a hens?

Willing guests enter solo or in teams, you draw the pairs, and each act gets one short chorus of the same song, one after the other. The room votes, the winners go through, and the bride picks the closing song. She can perform, judge, or enjoy it from the best seat in the room.

What do you write on roast cards for the bride?

A habit or a story she already laughs at herself: her travelling-light routine, her usual order, what nearly ready means in her house. Keep every card affectionate and let one friend read through them first. The honeymoon innuendo is the spicy edition; private stories and anything she would hate hearing out loud stay off the cards.

Can you play drag games without a drag queen?

Yes. Every crew-run game on this page works for a drag-themed hens with no queen booked: take turns reading, judging and running the music. If you would love our queen hosting the games and performing as part of her hens, start with our drag queen hens party page.

How many games should you plan around a drag queen?

Two short games before she arrives and one finale after is the sweet spot, and fewer works beautifully. Her show runs around 30 minutes and drag bingo about an hour, so leave that time clear and let the format in your package decide where the games sit.

What prizes work for hens games?

Something small the group would actually fight over: a lip gloss, a glitter compact, mini bubbles, or the right to choose the next song. A handwritten award or the group photo is plenty. The prize should never become another job for you.

Will our drag queen join in the games we bring?

Your queen runs the games in her own set, including the drag bingo. Tell your package consultant about any crew games you would love her in, like reading the roast cards or judging the lip sync, and it gets confirmed before the night. Our drag page has more on what she runs.
