The Future Is Brewing is a whimsical afternoon for the bride who loves a little magic, with cocktails poured from teapots over tiered stands of treats and a professional tarot reader at your side, then a velvet VIP booth once the sun goes down. Step into our Fitzroy cocktail lounge and it feels like a plush 1920s Parisian bar, all red, pink and gold, with velvet chesterfields under the hanging plants. Your reserved seating is ready, and the traditional tiered stands arrive loaded with sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and fruit. Then comes the part everyone photographs. Each of you chooses a colourful cocktail from the menu, and it arrives in its own cute teapot, ready to pour. Pinkies up, girls. Honestly, this lounge was practically born for a hens high tea.
Meanwhile, at a little table beside yours, your tarot reader is shuffling the deck. She's yours for two hours and she reads for each guest in turn, while the rest of the table sips and eavesdrops. Every card turned sets off a fresh round of theories about who it's really talking about, and the maid of honour will absolutely take notes. And the bride? She goes last, which means a whole afternoon of delicious suspense. When she finally takes the seat opposite the reader, the whole table goes quiet, and then every phone comes out.
