Bubbly By The River. Burlesque Behind Closed Doors.
Burlesque isn't about being rude, darling. It's about feeling fabulous, and there is a world of difference. Feathers and Fishnets is for the bride who wants to feel like a showgirl without anybody blushing too hard, and for the handful of girls who have seen her through every era. Dig out the fishnets and pack the good lipstick!
The afternoon starts at our waterfront bar, a Southbank cocktail bar where the terrace stretches toward the river and greenery softens every edge. Your reserved seating is ready and a bottle of bubbly is waiting as you settle in, so the first toast to the bride happens before anyone has properly sat down. Clink clink! This is the easy, golden part of the day, with views over Melbourne behind you and the first round of photos happening all on their own.
Then the feathers come out. The night moves into the heart of the Melbourne CBD to our fabulous cocktail lounge, tucked down a laneway and dressed in beautiful Moroccan decor, where a private celebration room is yours for a full hour. Neon backlit mood lighting and plush seating set the scene, and your private dance instructor is ready with a glamorous burlesque costume for the hen and fun accessories for the girls. For the one hour dance class it's seductive walks and cheeky shimmies, the fabulous kind of burlesque where everybody laughs as much as they strut. By the final pose your bride is centre stage in her costume with her girls posing like true divas around her. Get the photo. Then get it again.
When the class wraps, the party moves out to your reserved seating in the main lounge, where rich jewel tones and carved gold tables glow under Moroccan lanterns. Delicious share plates arrive for dinner and two cocktails each come to the table. Raise the first to the bride. Raise the second to whichever girl took the class far too seriously.
And then, you don't even have to leave the building. Your reserved VIP booth is waiting in the same glam cocktail lounge for two more hours, with the cover charge waived. Slide into plush velvet under glittering pendants and custom neon, and a surprise bottle of bubbly arrives for your hen. The dance floor is right on your doorstep, and every one of those burlesque moves is about to get an encore. Dance the night away, showgirls.
When she's out on that dance floor, glass of bubbly in hand and still doing the shimmy, she'll pull you in beside her and you'll both know who made this night happen. Consider it a feather in your cap, darling.
