In the old slang, the cat's pyjamas meant the absolute cream of the crop, and that is exactly what this night is for your bride. The Cat's Pyjamas takes just the eight of you, bride included, on a hens night with a genuine wild card right in the middle. It starts sweetly enough with cocktails in a neon hideaway. Then you arrive at Kittens as VIP guests, and by the time you reach the velvet booth, she will have a story she tells at every wedding she goes to after her own.
The evening opens in our neon kissed hideaway in the heart of Melbourne, all pink velvet and gold accents, with cherry blossoms blooming under glowing greenery. Your reserved table is waiting. A round of cocktails lands on arrival and the chef's selection share plates follow for the table. The hen, naturally, gets a bonus cocktail of her own. Play a round of hens games at the table and keep the conversation innocent, even while the group chat under the table is a flurry of winks about what comes next. She has no idea.
Then, the reveal. You are walking into Kittens, a strip venue with topless dancers on all night long, and your names are on the VIP list. Your VIP entry is sorted and your Diamond VIP booth is reserved for two hours, with two drink tickets for every guest to spend on house spirits, wine, beer, cider or a soft drink. The show is glamorous and completely unapologetic, and by the second round, so is your bride. Raise a toast to the dancers, then grab the booth selfie with the bride mid laugh. That is the one she will frame.
Then the night slips down a laneway. Our glam cocktail lounge is hidden away in the city, dripping in plush velvet and custom neon beneath glittering pendants. The cover charge is waived and your VIP booth is reserved for two more hours. And then there is the surprise: a bottle of bubbly for your hen, popped at the booth just as the playlist kicks up a gear. Make sure someone films the pop, because the look on her face is the whole point.
Then dance the night away. When your bride is spinning under the neon with her heels in one hand and her bubbly in the other, she will pull you close and tell you this night was the cat's pyjamas. She will be right. Take the credit, darling, you earned every bit of it.
